We had a very useful study tour of the mega project. The run of the river power project mainly constructed under the mountains with 61 kms of tunnel, envisages the diversion of Neelum waters through tunnels at Nauseri about 41 km upstream of Muzaffarabad and out falling in Jhelum River Chatter Kalas in AJ&K, where the powerhouse is located. The project is 90 % complete and will be operational by Jan 2018 producing 1100 MWs of electricity at a very economical cost.
