FOREIGN SERVICE ACADEMY
 

The Foreign Service Academy of Pakistan was established in September 1981. It has organized 70 courses for the officers of Foreign Service and other departments of Pakistan and 63 courses for foreign diplomats.

The number of our international alumni, many of them serving in responsible positions in their respective countries, stands at 1183 from 84 countries. In addition, almost the entire Foreign Service of Pakistan of today has passed out through the gates of this Academy. The strength of Pakistani alumni stands at 553.

The Academy has been conducting comprehensive Pre-Posting Orientation Courses for officers and spouses, both from the foreign service as well as other national services represented abroad. In the past five years, 294 officers and spouses have received training in this domain.

The aim of such courses is to prepare families for the discharge of representational duties abroad. The Academy has also been arranging short duration courses and seminars on diplomacy and financial management for defence and community welfare attaches. 105 officers have benefited from these courses in the last five years. The Directing Staff of the Academy is headed by a Director General, assisted by two Directors, one Deputy Director and one Assistant Director. In addition, the FSA has a visiting Faculty comprising highly qualified academics, civil servants, professionals, and senior serving and retired diplomats.

Director General

Ambassador Mohsin Razi has been appointed as the new Director General of the Foreign Service Academy. He replaces Ambassador Murad Ali who retired last week. Until recently, Mr. Razi was serving in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Additional Foreign Secretary for Asia and Pacific Region. He has previously served as Pakistan's Ambassador to the Philippines and Consul General in New York.
